Breast enhancement surgeries can boost your confidence by restoring a youthful and fuller appearance. Unfortunately, the natural pull of gravity can cause the breasts to sag, reversing the effects of these procedures.
In most cases, the force affects larger breasts more due to increased weight. As gravity pulls downward, the skin that supports the breasts stretches. This may cause sagging or drooping over time. On the other hand, smaller breasts experience less strain from gravity. However, they may still lose firmness or shape due to aging, weight fluctuations, or other factors.
Dr. Emily Jiles ensures long-lasting results from a breast enhancement procedure by integrating GalaFLEX™ into the surgery. The technique can also be applied independently for breast lift-only patients or breast implant revision.
GalaFLEX™ is made from poly-4-hydroxybutyrate (P4HB), a strong, flexible polymer fully absorbed by the body after 6–12 months. As the material dissolves, it encourages collagen growth, leaving behind a layer of supportive tissue. The absorbable mesh generally works as an “internal bra,” maintaining the shape and lift of the breast.
While breast augmentation or breast reduction can be combined with a breast lift, patients who only need to improve breast firmness may opt for GalaFLEX™ alone. It is specifically designed to address sagging and drooping breasts.
Dr. Jiles will make small, discreet incisions around the areola, beneath the breast, or in the armpit to access the surgical site. Depending on your aesthetic needs, we may remove excess breast tissues to reduce the size of the breasts or place implants beneath the chest muscles to add volume and shape.
Once the implants are in place, the surgeon will position the GalaFLEX™ mesh. The mesh is carefully placed beneath the breast tissue and over the chest wall to provide additional structural support. The incisions are then closed after the mesh is properly positioned and the implants are secured.
I had breast surgery done by Dr. Emily Jiles and I couldn't be happier. The entire procedure was pain free. Dr. Jiles was the consummate professional and amazingly compassionate. She truly cares about her patients. Her pre-op preparation and her follow up care are second to none. I felt totally confident with my decision to choose Dr. Jiles as my surgeon and I would recommend her to anyone. She is the best!
GalaFLEX™ is ideal for anyone looking to have perky breasts and a small upper body frame. Candidates should be in good overall health and without any chronic conditions that could interfere with healing. They should also have a stable weight, as fluctuations can reverse the results.
In addition, individuals with healthy skin elasticity tend to benefit the most from the procedure, as their skin can adapt to the lift and new breast contour more easily. Non-smokers are preferred, as smoking can impede healing and increase the risk of complications.
In case you had breast surgery recently, you should wait at least 6 months to give the body enough time to heal. Most importantly, candidates must have realistic expectations and understand the surgery’s limitations.

Pinch me, I must be dreaming! I feel so fortunate to have chosen Dr. Jiles as my surgeon. After losing 130+ lbs., there was work to be done(!) and Dr. Jiles completed phase 1 - breast reduction/lift and an arm lift - three months ago. The results are beautiful and as I envisioned. My clothes fit better, my arms are finally showing the results of exercise that were hidden behind loose skin, and I feel infinitely more confident.
I am on Dr. Jiles' schedule for phase 2 - an extended tummy tuck with contouring. I have all the confidence in the world that she will bring her masterful artistry to the operating room and her compassion to the bedside. Dr. Jiles is my partner on this long journey to becoming my optimal self and my secret weapon, but I'm delighted to shout it from the rooftop.
Immediately after the surgery, you may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort. It’s essential to rest and limit physical activity during this time. Dr. Jiles will prescribe pain medication and instruct you to wear a surgical bra to support your breasts and minimize movement.
Most of the swelling and bruising should subside by the second week. You will likely feel more comfortable and return to work at this time. However, you should avoid strenuous activities.
In 4–6 weeks, your breast shape will begin to settle. You may resume light exercises, but vigorous physical activity should still be avoided.
3–6 months after the procedure, most of the swelling will subside, and your breasts will take their final shape. By one year, your breasts should be fully healed, and you will start to enjoy the final results of the procedure.
The average cost of a breast lift with GalaFLEX™ ranges between $8000–$12000. The cost includes the surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, consultation fees, medications, the GalaFLEX™ material, and other related expenses
Additional costs may include post-operative treatment, follow-up appointments, and recovery aids used. Moreover, the cost may increase if additional procedures, like breast augmentation or a reduction, are performed with the lift.
The good news is that we offer financing with Carecredit and Lending USA to ensure a seamless process. Our prices are also the most competitive in the region.
My experience with Dr Jiles was great and the outcome of the procedure looks fantastic! I felt informed and confident from my first consultation right into aftercare. At no point did I feel pressured and I always felt as if Dr Jiles had my best interest at hand. I would highly recommend Dr Jiles to everyone.
Internal bra breast lift is generally safe. However, like any other surgical procedure, it carries some potential risks. Common side effects include temporary swelling and bruising, which resolves within a few weeks.
Some patients may show signs of infection, such as fever, excessive swelling, unusual drainage, unpleasant odor, and pain. Others may experience changes in sensation, particularly around the nipple, but this often resolves as healing progresses.
In rare cases, the mesh may shift slightly, requiring adjustment. Additionally, while surgeons take every precaution to reduce scarring, the final appearance depends on the individual healing process. This means some scars may take longer to disappear.
GalaFLEX™ is designed to be biocompatible. This allows it to integrate smoothly with the body’s natural tissues, minimizing the risk of rejection.
While rejection is rare, some patients experience a mild reaction to the material. This may include irritation, inflammation, or infection at the surgical site. These issues can be managed easily during post-op care.
No. 6-12 months after surgery, your natural breast tissue will fully absorb the GalaFLEX™ mesh implant.
As your body absorbs the material, it generates collagen and elastin in the surrounding breast tissue. The proteins are vital for creating firm and youthful skin.
While the mesh isn’t permanent, its structural benefits can last many years. It will enhance the shape of your breasts and minimize future sagging.
Both breast lift procedures aim to improve the shape and position of the breasts. However, they differ in the techniques used. In a traditional breast lift, excess skin is removed, breast tissue is tightened, and the nipple is repositioned without the use of implants.
On the other hand, during an internal bra breast lift procedure, the surgeon will place the dissolvable mesh material under the breast tissue. It’s like having a permanent push-up bra integrated into your breast structure to maintain a lifted, youthful appearance.
