GalaFLEX™ is made from poly-4-hydroxybutyrate (P4HB), a strong, flexible polymer fully absorbed by the body after 6–12 months. As the material dissolves, it encourages collagen growth, leaving behind a layer of supportive tissue. The absorbable mesh generally works as an “internal bra,” maintaining the shape and lift of the breast.
While breast augmentation or breast reduction can be combined with a breast lift, patients who only need to improve breast firmness may opt for GalaFLEX™ alone. It is specifically designed to address sagging and drooping breasts.
Dr. Jiles will make small, discreet incisions around the areola, beneath the breast, or in the armpit to access the surgical site. Depending on your aesthetic needs, we may remove excess breast tissues to reduce the size of the breasts or place implants beneath the chest muscles to add volume and shape.
Once the implants are in place, the surgeon will position the GalaFLEX™ mesh. The mesh is carefully placed beneath the breast tissue and over the chest wall to provide additional structural support. The incisions are then closed after the mesh is properly positioned and the implants are secured.

GalaFLEX™ is ideal for anyone looking to have perky breasts and a small upper body frame. Candidates should be in good overall health and without any chronic conditions that could interfere with healing. They should also have a stable weight, as fluctuations can reverse the results.
In addition, individuals with healthy skin elasticity tend to benefit the most from the procedure, as their skin can adapt to the lift and new breast contour more easily. Non-smokers are preferred, as smoking can impede healing and increase the risk of complications.

Immediately after the surgery, you may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort. It’s essential to rest and limit physical activity during this time. Dr. Jiles will prescribe pain medication and instruct you to wear a surgical bra to support your breasts and minimize movement.
Most of the swelling and bruising should subside by the second week. You will likely feel more comfortable and return to work at this time. However, you should avoid strenuous activities.
In 4–6 weeks, your breast shape will begin to settle. You may resume light exercises, but vigorous physical activity should still be avoided.
3–6 months after the procedure, most of the swelling will subside, and your breasts will take their final shape. By one year, your breasts should be fully healed, and you will start to enjoy the final results of the procedure.
The average cost of a breast lift with GalaFLEX™ ranges between $8000–$12000. The cost includes the surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, consultation fees, medications, the GalaFLEX™ material, and other related expenses
Additional costs may include post-operative treatment, follow-up appointments, and recovery aids used. Moreover, the cost may increase if additional procedures, like breast augmentation or a reduction, are performed with the lift.
