Lipo 360 is one of several options to help you get the svelte waist you’ve been dreaming of. Liposuction is used to remove stubborn fat from the abdomen, flanks, and back completely reshaping your core. It is particularly ideal for women who have extra stubborn fat resistant to diet and exercise, and who still retain good elasticity of the skin. If you are unsure about the elasticity of your skin, Dr. Jiles will be able to tell you if you are a candidate for the procedure. The good news is that it is easily combined with a mini tummy tuck and a full traditional tummy tuck in certain situations. However, the most popular procedure to combine it with is fat transfer to the buttocks.

Ideal candidates are not smokers, or are able to stop all nicotine products and vaping for 1 month prior and 1 month after the surgery. This is important for wound healing. In general, good candidates for elective surgery do not have uncontrolled medical conditions, and their BMI is ideally under 35. These things do not necessarily exclude you from having a surgery with Dr. Jiles. You will have your consultation with Dr. Jiles at Sarasota Surgical Arts, where she will get your detailed medical history and do an exam.
Your surgery will be performed at the accredited outpatient surgery center at Sarasota Surgical Arts. On the day of your surgery a licensed anesthesia provider will place you under general anesthesia. During that time you will be closely monitored for your safety and comfort.
Prior to the surgery you will have markings done and photographs taken by Dr. Jiles. Once asleep under anesthesia in the operating room, the fatty areas to be suctioned will be injected with solution of numbing medication that helps keep you more comfortable after the surgery. Tiny incisions will be made in discreet locations to allow liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and lower back.
As you awake in the recovery room, you will be assisted by our excellent nursing staff. You will be wearing a compression garment and will have post operative medications prescribed for pain to keep you comfortable, as well as antibiotics.
Anticipate approximately 2 weeks off from work following the procedure to optimize the comfort of your recovery. The worst phase of your post operative pain will subside after the first few days. You will likely have a drain that will be removed by about 2 weeks after the surgery. Plan to not drive the first week or for the remainder of time that you are taking prescription pain medication.
You will immediately notice the difference in your shape after the surgery. There will be significant swelling and bruising of the areas treated with liposuction for up to 2 weeks. After that the swelling subsides and continues to gradually go away until the final healing which occurs between 3 to 6 months for most patients. The tiny incisions will gradually become a thin line, that will be hidden below the waist of panties or a bathing suit bottom.
