If you are carrying extra pounds on your waist that seem resistant to diet and exercise, you are not alone. The good news is that there are several procedures to target this area of the body, and Dr. Jiles is here to help you decide which is right for you to address your specific problems.
Dr. Jiles of Jiles Cosmetic Surgery is a talented cosmetic surgeon with fellowship training in mini tummy tucks as well as many other procedures. Dr. Jiles offers mini tummy tuck surgery in Sarasota, Fl.
Women seeking a mini tummy tuck have one or more of the following complaints:
Ideal candidates are not smokers, or are able to stop all nicotine products and vaping for 1 month prior and 1 month after the surgery. This is important for wound healing. In general, good candidates for elective surgery do not have uncontrolled medical conditions, and their BMI is ideally under 35. These things do not necessarily exclude you from having a surgery with Dr. Jiles. If these areas are a concern, be sure to ask Dr. Jiles and she will make arrangements to best have your needs met to make the surgery as safe as possible.
Not every patient who wants to address the lower abdomen needs a full tummy tuck, and recognizing that distinction is one of the ways we bring real value to the consultation process. A mini tummy tuck is a more targeted procedure with a shorter incision and a faster recovery, but it is appropriate for a specific type of candidate, and recommending it correctly depends on honest assessment.
Dr. Jiles holds membership on the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons, among other professional boards. Her consultations for abdominal procedures are built around a clear evaluation of your anatomy, your goals, and the realistic outcomes for each surgical option. The right procedure is the one that actually addresses your concern, not necessarily the most complex or extensive one available.
If a mini tummy tuck is well-matched to what you want to address, we will explain clearly what to expect from the procedure, the scar location, the recovery, and the final result. If a full abdominoplasty or a different approach would serve you better, we will walk you through why. That kind of direct, individualized guidance is something our patients consistently value about their experience here.
Our practice is located in Sarasota and serves patients from Bradenton, Tampa, St. Petersburg, and throughout the Gulf Coast region. Our entirely female staff contributes to an environment that many patients describe as more comfortable and less clinical than what they have experienced elsewhere, especially when the conversation involves something as personal as the appearance of their midsection.

You will have your consultation with Dr. Jiles at Jiles Cosmetic Surgery, where she will get your detailed medical history and do an exam of your abdomen.
Your surgery will be performed at our outpatient surgery center, Jiles Cosmetic Surgery. On the day of your surgery a licensed anesthesia provider will place you under general ³. During that time you will be closely monitored for your safety and comfort.
As you awake in the recovery room, you will be assisted by one of our excellent nursing staff. You will be wearing a compression garment and will have post operative medications prescribed such as pain medication to keep you comfortable, as well as antibiotics.
Anticipate approximately 2 weeks off from work following the procedure to optimize the comfort of your recovery. The worst phase of your post operative pain will subside after the first few days. You will likely have a drain that will be removed by about 2 weeks after the surgery. Plan to not drive the first week or for the remainder of time that you are taking pain medication.
You will immediately notice the difference in your shape after the surgery. There will be significant swelling and bruising of the areas treated with liposuction for up to 2 weeks. After that the swelling subsides and continues to gradually go away until the final healing which occurs between 3 to 6 months for most patients. The incision will gradually become a thin line, that will be hidden below the waist of panties or a bathing suit bottom.
Dr. Jiles is a skilled cosmetic surgeon with extensive experience in Posterior Body Lift surgery. With skill, and a perfectionist eye she will help you achieve the shape of your dreams.
Jiles Cosmetic Surgery is a safe, state -of -the- art surgical facility that provides the highest standards in cosmetic surgery. All surgeries that Dr. Jiles provides are performed at this facility in Sarasota, Florida.
