As the fastest-growing cosmetic procedure in the world- for celebrities to patients of all walks of life- the Brazilian Buttocks Lift ( BBL) is the single procedure that shapes the core, and volumizes the buttocks simultaneously. For women who are looking to improve the curve of their bottom line, while slimming their waist to the smallest possible size, BBL surgery is the answer.
Dr. Jiles is a talented cosmetic surgeon with fellowship training in Brazilian Buttocks Lifts, and was voted as a top-rated cosmetic surgeon in Sarasota, FL Dr. Jiles offers Brazilian Buttocks Lift surgery in Sarasota, Fl.
A Brazilian Buttocks Lift (BBL) is liposuction of the abdomen, flanks ( “love handles”), and lower back which harvests fat that is then transferred to the buttocks. The procedure is highly customizable. For example, liposuction can be focused on the areas a patient may harbor the most fat, which for some may be the abdomen and flanks, for others may include more of the middle back. Wherever the bulk is located, it can be harvested for transfer.
Additionally, some patients may have fatty tissue that would exceed the safe limit of liposuction to be done in one procedure. In that case, the best result can be obtained by performing liposuction of the abdomen first, followed by a second procedure 4 weeks later to shape the back and flanks, at which time the fat would be transferred to the buttocks.
The fat transfer may also be customized to the desired size and shape of the buttocks.
Most women seeking BBL surgery have one or more of the following complaints:
Ideal candidates are not smokers, or are able to stop all nicotine products and vaping for 1 month prior and 1 month after the surgery. This is important for blood supply to the transferred fat to enhance survival. In general, good candidates for elective surgery do not have uncontrolled medical conditions, and their BMI is ideally under 35. These things do not necessarily exclude you from having a BBL with Dr. Jiles. If these areas are a concern, be sure to ask Dr. Jiles and she will make arrangements to best have your needs met to make the surgery as safe as possible.
You will have your consultation with Dr. Jiles at her surgical facility in Sarasota, where she will get your detailed medical history and do an exam. At that time, it is particularly important to discuss your exact goals for the result of the liposuction, as well the desired shape and fullness of the buttocks. Dr. Jiles will advise you as to the most effective surgical plan to get the results you deserve.
Your surgery will be performed at the accredited outpatient surgery center in Sarasota. On the day of your surgery a licensed anesthesia provider will place you under general anesthesia. During that time you will be closely monitored by them for your safety and comfort.
During the surgery, solution containing anesthetic and medication to prevent bleeding will be injected into the fatty tissue of the planned areas of liposuction. Tiny incisions are made in areas that will be well-hidden in order to allow liposuction with cannulas. The abdomen is typically done first, followed by the flank areas and lastly the back. Fat is harvested in a sterile container. When the liposuction phase of the procedure is complete, the fat is injected into the buttocks through tiny, discreet incisions.
As you awake in the recovery room, you will be assisted by one of our excellent nursing staff. You will be wearing a compression garment, and sitting on a special pillow that displaces pressure from your buttocks to the backs of your thighs. You will have post operative medications prescribed such as pain medication to keep you comfortable, as well as antibiotics.
Anticipate approximately 2 weeks off from work following the procedure to optimize the comfort of your recovery. The worst phase of your post operative pain will subside after the first few days. You will need to avoid sitting on your buttocks and sleeping on your backs for up to 8 weeks after surgery. To assist with this you need to use a “bbl pillow” that goes under the back of your thighs while sitting. It is recommended to wear your compression garment for 8 weeks following the surgery for the best results, as well as lymphatic massage to assist with healing after the liposuction.
You will immediately notice the difference in your shape after the surgery. Your buttocks will appear very red and swollen for the first few days after the surgery. The areas of liposuction will also become swollen in the days following surgery , which will subside after about 2 weeks. Fat transferred to the buttocks has approximately a survival rate of 70%, which means about a third of the fat transferred will not get enough blood supply to survive. The initial swelling of the buttocks will settle by approximately 8 weeks, to the final resultant size and shape.
